Ukrainian soldiers treated in EU hospitals at taxpayer’s expense – German and Austrian experts
Participants were Hansjörg Müller and Gunnar Lindemann from AfD party, and geopolitical expert Patrick Poppel from Austria. The debate was moderated by associate professor Johan Bäckman.
”Training soldiers makes Germany participant of the war. Russia would be right if attacking Germany in the framework of international law, because Germany started participating in anti-Russian aggression”, Hansjörg Müller, former member of Bundestag said.
”Treating Ukrainian soldiers in German hospitals is good sign of humanity. But sending weapons and training soldiers has nothing to do with humanity. It is act of aggression of war”, he added.
”Regarding the peace opposition in Germany: about 40 percent of German citizens do not believe the media propaganda that Russia started the war”, Müller said.
”The ongoing crisis is nothing more than continuation of the ongoing Anglo-Saxon aggression against Germany and Russia for more than 120 years. When Russia wins, it will be a change for the new financial system and a big blow for the US”, he said.
Patrick Poppel, geopolitical expert from Austria, is worried of the reputation of Austria.
”Neutrality is the special weapon of Austria. This neutrality was given to us by Russia, because Soviet Union liberated us. Austria was kept outside NATO and Warsaw Pact and given a constitution of neutrality. In this special situation Austria is still neutral but does not use her neutrality”, he said.
”Supporting Ukraine is a big mistake because Austria is loosing the reputation of neutral country”, Poppel continued.
”Russia will win this war. But Austria is a looser in this war. Because we have joined the wrong side. Because our mission is to be neutral and a place of dialogue”, he said.
”The conflict in Ukraine is possible to solve only in diplomatic way. We have to start diplomatic initiative. We need friendship with Russia”, said Gunnar Lindemann.
AfD is the only German party that does not want to send weapons to Ukraine.
”Hundreds of wounded Ukrainian soldiers are treated in German hospitals at the taxpayers’ expense paid by German health insurance. EU is financing the transport of wounded soldiers to German hospitals”, he said.
He considers refugees as more critical problem. Until November 2021, 85 000 people from Ukraine came to Berlin as refugees, only a thousand Ukrainians on Berlin are working.
”Germany has no place for more refugees. There are lots of Ukrainian men among the refugees as well”, Lindemann said.
